How does Jesus look like in the bible-

EZEKIAL 1:-25-28
“Then there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads as they stood with lowered wings. Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above the throne was a like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the surrounding radiance , This was the appearance of likeness of the glory of the Lord.”

This how the Bible describes How God looks like. And there are many places in the bible which describes the appearance of Jesus/God.

In, Revelation 1:12-15, it says “….in the midst of the lamp stands one like a son of man, clothed with along robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.”

Image of God-

As described in these two scriptures, it clearly shows, how Jesus looked like. Full of fire from waist up and an appearance of a rainbow. Another instance was when Moses was at the burning bush he was not able to look directly at the Lord because of the radiance around God.

And GENESIS 1: 27, It says “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them”

This clearly shows that we human beings have likeness to God and his qualities. So we can be sort of proud that we carry the image of God. So now even though God created us in his image, we have failed to live up to God’s expectation as sin entered Man. It entered through Adam with the influence of Satan, even though it is of no excuse for Adam to disobey God.

When Jesus died on the cross, carrying our sins with him as a supreme sacrifice, we were reconciled to God, fully purified. And we are born again. Then why are we still lagging behind even with an image of God ?

Conclusion-

The reason is even though we are forgiven of our sins and redeemed, we still live in a human body which entice us to Sin.

This should not be so, but with the help of Holy Spirit we can resist all temptations and live a holy life. Therefore, it is very important to remember that we were made in the image of God, and especially as Christians, we have a duty to show God and the world we are of God.

  1. Dear Saj Kar,

Very nice to meet you. Its nice to hear that you are a Christian as well. Great website you have here. Great emphasis on sharing your faith and knowledge of the Scriptures as well. Are there any Biblical Museums you have come across or visited that you might show in your new blog posts in the future?

Wishing you all the best with your online success above and beyond the horizon,

    ~Angel
