Bible verses trusting lord:do not rely on your own understanding

We always try to figure out things ourselves. We always try to understand things by reasoning. This is a big mistake.

Your life is guided by the Lord. He formed you in your mother’s womb knows your future. He knows what you will do and what your future is going to be. Here I have outlined what God wants us to do as in the bible.

Proverbs 3:5-8

” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”

The human brain can not understand how to deal with certain situations. It has a limited ability to figure things out. Trying to deal with it all on your own is a mistake.

If you have been living a christian life, and been attentive to God’s voice, you will be guided by the Holy Spirit to deal with any trouble in life.

To do that you need to follow commandment as outlined in the bible. You need to pray daily, read the bible, and pray in the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 46:1-3

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

I remember the scripture about how when Moses prayed God divided the Red sea, so Israelis can escape Egyptians and cross over to safety. Moses with his staff by Faith in God, held it out on the Red sea.

And Pharo and Egyptian army tried to follow, the entire army was destroyed as the water ran over them.

This is one instance how God acted on someone’s faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Isaiah 26: 3-4

“Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock”

Yes, Jesus is the everlasting Rock. You can trust on this rock anytime, forever. You may come across many obstacles, tragedies, financial hardships, but know that your God knows what you are going though and he is with you to the end.

Our God is an omnipotent, omnipresent god. No need to be overly concerned with any bad situation. When going through with any calamities in life know that your “rock” is there besides you.

Matthew 6:25-27

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”

Many worry about their future. Whether they are going to “make it” in this competitive world.
If you have a roof over your head, and food to eat, and clothing which does not have to be the most expensive, you will do fine.

God is trying to emphasis here the importance of life over things, luxuries that people today are yearning for. Do not worry when your friend or neighbor drives the latest, BMW When he lives in a palatial house.

As an example birds do not worry about these petty things. They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns. Still, our heavenly father feeds them. It is the trust that they have in the creator of this world.

Just worrying about future will not add any time to your life span. Here our god is trying to point out the futility of worrying about the future.

Psalm 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

You may have faced, frustration when you get a flat tire. Say, you do not know how to change it to the spare tire. Then miraculously someone turns up from nowhere, and helps you to get it done. Then you will know it was God who sent him. Her again it shows the omnipresence of God.

Your child is dying of an incurable cancer, and you at his deathbed. But due to yours and prayers of others including your pastor, he pulls through. Why, it is because of the faith in the people who prayed for his cure.

Faith moves mountains. If you really believe that when you pray that God heard your prayers, he will heal whoever.

I remember personally, how I have had similar experiences. Once my sister was bleeding heavily and I was stunned to see the amount of blood she lost. She had fallen on the floor of the bathroom. And I knew she was about to die.

But I prayed for her loudly with my full might hoping for a miracle. Suddenly, she started breathing and bleeding subsided.

Proverbs 18:10

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

You shout loudly, saying “Jesus” at the top of your voice when in trouble. And God hears it. Whenever, you are facing death just the name “Jesus” will turn things around.

This has happened to me many times in life. Once when walking towards my car, in the parking, one late night, I was confronted by someone pointing a large knife at me. I did not know what to do as I am not versed in self defense.

All I could do was to shout at him,”Stop, in the name of Jesus” He was startled and suddenly, started running away from me yelling. The word “Jesus” is the most powerful word you can ever use.

With this word, you can chase away, nullify, any strong enemy that would come against you anywhere in the world. There is no need to fight back. Jesus will fight your battles.

There is power in the name of Jesus. When someone in your family is dying of incurable decease, the last desperate plea you can make is just utter the name “Jesus” And God will hear your prayer and even at the last moment rescue that person. It is called a Miracle.

Exodus 14:14-

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

Unfortunately, today many uses the name of Jesus as a curse word. This should not be, Beware the wrath of God will be upon them unless they repent and change.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”

I always dreaded flying. The heights make me nervous. I always pray before take off and before landing. So far by grace of God I have not faced any trouble when flying. Some say I am lucky. No, I believe because of my prayers, I always had a safe flight.

Now, I love to fly frequently on vacation, knowing my Lord is omnipresent and watching me having a safe flight.

Exodus 15:2

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

One thing, I want to emphasis here is that our God love praise. Singing and praises move God. You must sing unto the lord, sing praises to him. He will make you victorious in everything you do.

Proverbs 2:1-7

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, 2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— 3 indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, 4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless

Your God calls you his son and that’s an honor. He wants you to listen, seek him and learn the mind, ways of God. He gives you wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

If you truly, believe and Trust in him, and follow his commandments, apply them, surely you will be highly successful.

Conclusion:

Do not try to figure out things yourself.Trust in the Lord to deal in every situation good or bad. Do not worry, when you pray and trust Him, in every situation, God will carry you though if you follow his commands and trust in him.
