Who will go to heaven according to the bible: what does the bible say about going to heaven.
Unfortunately not all “Christians” would go to heaven. Just because you are born to a Christian family do not mean you automatically go to heaven.
Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
God accepts only those who lived according to his words in the bible as outlined in the bible, to heaven. It is not by works. But by the grace of God. Is that what God is looking for in you ? Is this enough to enter heaven. Jesus said, in
John 3:3
“Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
All you have to do is confess that you have sinned and repent (or feel sorry for what you have done in the past) and forgive them all including your enemies. In, short, just say the sinners’ prayer which is,
“Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned, I repent of all my sins, Forgive me”
And as soon as you say this prayer, you become a born again Christian and a new human being in the kingdom of God. A new Christian. And most importantly a child of God.
And you are selected to enter the kingdom of heaven. And if you do not follow this procedure you will not enter the kingdom of heaven, guaranteed.
I was born to parents of a different faith, I “saw” the truth in Jesus. Since then, I have been following Jesus for years.
And it was difficult to remain a Christian but despite external pressure from many quarters I remained a Christian. When you accept Jesus, Satan will do his best to distract you, frustrate you. He will offer financial rewards.
He will entice you with many illegal schemes. He will promise you the world as he did to Jesus. Do not fall into temptation. If you remain steadfast to Jesus you will receive the crown of life, which is eternal life in Heaven.
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
Here again God reminds us that we were born as sinners’, and we do not qualify to be with god in heaven.
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
If you decided not to accept Jesus, you will be condemned and will be going straight way to hell. That would be a tragedy as you were given a chance to escape hell but still you rejected that opportunity.
It is the paramount duty of every Christian to spread the word of God all over the world, so that the unbelievers will start believing and accept Jesus as their savior and thereby avoid going to hell.
John 3:36
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever do not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
When you hear the word of God, and you ignore it, you will be in trouble. Since god has given you a chance, and usually he will approach you only once.
It could happen if someone invited you to his or her church. And at the end of the sermon you are invited to accept Jesus. And despite god moving in your spirit, and you still do not accept him, you will be eternally condemned and you would lose the chance to enter heaven and everlasting life.
Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast “
Some pastors, unfortunately, preach to this day, that you have to “work” towards your salvation. This is far from the truth.
No, you can not work toward your salvation. There is no such thing. This is a misconception. As it say here in the scripture,”this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works” Then, there is no reason to dispute the scripture.
Galatians 5:19-21
” Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these, will not enter heaven.
Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
It would dreadful for all ungodly when they are judged at the end times by God, as it says they would be thrown to the Lake of Fire, and they would have an agonizing death. They will be burnt with fire and suffer.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Here again, Jesus is emphasizing the fact that you can only go to heaven and see the father is only through him. Jesus stated, “He and the Father are one”. Therefore, unless you accept him as the son of God, you will not see the father or go to heaven.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”
Earlier, God the father, accepted sacrifices of goats, lambs but it was not sufficient.
Philippians 3:20-21
” But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”
We are in temporary citizenship on earth. We will be citizens of Heaven.
2 Peter 3:13
” But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”
We will see new heavens and a new earth in the times to come.
Revelation 21:1
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.”
Conclusion:
Contrary to what it is preached in some churches, you can not work towards your way to heaven. It is the Gift of god, or you receive it by grace of God. You must first accept Jesus as the Lord and savior. Then, you qualify to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Thank you, happy to hear that you enjoyed reading my article.God bless.
I really enjoyed your post and your rich depth of knowledge about the word of God. According to the Bible the righteousness of man is like a filthy rag before God. Definitely salvation can only be gotten by grace cos man can never do enough to justify belonging in the kingdom of God. I do want to know, what if after becoming born again you still fall into sin a couple of times. Does this mean you were not truly saved?
Thank you. In my opinion even though we are saved by the grace of god, still you could and would fall into temptation if you do not watch out. You have to be on your guard always. Read the Bible and pray.
If you do eventually sin, you can and must confess your sins , ask for forgiveness from God again. And you will be forgiven and will not lose your salvation.
You fall into sin because of sinful, earthly body. In heaven you will receive a heavenly body.
We are all human and we all sin daily. You ask God to forgive you of sins you know about and sins you are unaware of. Once you are saved you are under Gods Grace
yes, absolutely
Been a Christian is not an easy task with the temptations that we have all around us. It takes the grace of God to be able to work a righteous path and not fall into temptations. If not of the fact that God is a merciful God, a lot of us would have no way to return to the righteous path.
We call ourselves Christians but how many of us would actually make it into heaven when the trumpet sounds. God would help us.
Thank you.Yes, our God is a forgiving god.
Considerations with respect to heaven are consistently near questionable desires. Clearly you can’t make heaven because you were conceived in a christian family anyway people have different view in regards to it. Many have no comprehension of God but still like to think of it as a better place where we all go when we kick the bucket and that is the reason the Bible has a great deal to explain to us about life after death
Hi! You have put things clearly by saying you can’t “by-pass” Jesuschrist and go to heaven. I really think a key verse to all this discusion is John 3:16. It enphasises all what God the Father has done to save us by giving His only Son. And what we have to do to have eternal life and go to heaven: “believe in Him”. This verse presents these two aspects, and in the midle there is this person, his Son. He is not only the center of this verse, but also of the whole Bible. All the Bible points to Him for Salvation. “God… in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” Hebrews 1:2-3
Thank you for your comments. Absolutely, as Jesus said “if you know me you know the Father”
